SENIOR ART CAMP Calling All Senior Artists! Discover the pleasure of creative expression and the great outdoors. Enjoy (5) fun filled days exploring the arts amid the refreshing and natural beauty of a Philadelphia treasure, the Horticultural Center. Picturesque and panoramic views stretch before you beckoning the artist within you to create and capture the natural setting on canvas. THE 2004 PRPS AWARD The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society awards individual, group and agencies for their positive impact on those served by our profession. AWARDED TO THE SENIOR ART CAMP The Philadelphia Department of Recreation presents a new initiative. Older Adult Services Unit in partnership with the Visual Arts Department resulted in two Senior Art Camps during summer 2003. A five-day, four-hour per day camp in mid-June attracted 34 older adults ages 55+. Instructional classes were held for all abilities in painting , drawing, watercolors, and three-dimensional art.
